We offer a nationwide network of qualified trades people, carefully vetted so you can be sure of having someone available in the event of an emergency.

At Hiscox, we are unusually generous in what we consider "standard" cover, making this service more comprehensive than most. In addition, this service is automatically included with all policies - some insurers will charge up to £84 a year for a similar type of cover.*

Types of emergencies covered

• Burst pipes
• Failure of heating and hot water supply
• Damaged external doors
• Drain blockages
• Electricity failure e.g. fuse box, sockets and wiring

How Home Emergency can help

• Covers domestic emergencies which pose a risk to health or safety or make it impossible to live in your home
• Labour and materials are covered up to £500 per incident to solve a domestic emergency
• Temporary repairs are guaranteed for up to 3 months and permanent repairs for up to 1 year
• 24-hour emergency helpline - usually, contractors will arrive at your home within 2 hours or the next day for heating emergencies
• Emergency advice given over the phone whenever possible
• No excess to pay if you do make a claim
